RMLIMS Lucknow Signs MoU with Sage Cricket Academy to Promote Sports & Wellbeing

LUCKNOW: Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), Lucknow, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sage Cricket Academy (Sage Sports Services) to promote sports, fitness, and holistic wellbeing among its students, faculty, and staff.

Under the agreement, Sage Cricket Academy will provide its cricket ground and allied facilities to RMLIMS for organizing a range of sporting events. The initiative aims to create a culture of physical activity within the institute and highlight the role of sports in stress management, teamwork, and overall health.

Promoting Health Through Sports
Speaking on the occasion, RMLIMS Director Dr. C.M. Singh said: “This partnership is a step towards holistic development at RMLIMS. Along with world-class healthcare and research, we must also build a culture of fitness and wellbeing. Sports are powerful in preventing lifestyle diseases, reducing stress, and nurturing discipline and resilience. This initiative will benefit our students, faculty, and staff by motivating them to remain active and healthy.”

Sports and Medicine: A Natural Alliance

The leadership of RMLIMS emphasized that for a medical institute, promoting sports is not just recreation but a public health measure. Sports help reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, obesity, diabetes, and hypertension. They also foster mental strength, enhance focus, and build social bonds, all of which are essential for the demanding lives of healthcare professionals.

The collaboration will pave the way for inter-departmental cricket tournaments, fitness campaigns, and awareness drives on non-communicable diseases. By combining medical knowledge with sports promotion, RMLIMS aims to set an example of integrating healthcare and holistic wellbeing.
