Girl Cadets Shine as Sainik School Lucknow Achieves Historic NDA Results

Lucknow: In a remarkable achievement, 18 out of 30 cadets from Sainik School Lucknow have cleared the NDA written exam, registering a 60% strike rate, the highest in the country. This success marks a significant improvement in the institution’s NDA results, with entries increasing manifold over the past few years. Additionally, 28 cadets from the previous batch also cleared the exam, bringing the total to 46 successful cadets.

Notably, girl cadets have also made a substantial mark in these results, reflecting the inclusive progress of the institution. The success is attributed to the hard work of the cadets, expert guidance from faculty members like Mr. D.P. Singh, Maths faculty, and the leadership of Col Rajesh Raghav, Principal of Sainik School Lucknow. Col Raghav’s vision has created a significant shift in the institution’s culture, rejuvenating its academic and training ecosystem.

Cadet Divyansh Solanki, the School Captain, praised Col Raghav’s efforts, stating, “Raghav Sir provided all the necessary facilities for academic enhancement and went a step further by bringing in external experts. His disciplined attitude and strong sense of regimen made a huge difference in our lives.”

Sainik School Lucknow, founded in 1960, had been struggling for over two decades to maintain its dominance in NDA entries. However, recent years have seen a transformation, with significant government support for infrastructure upgrades. Mr. Kumar, a parent, remarked on the school’s modernization, noting, “Old, crumbling structures have been replaced with state-of-the-art facilities, and roads have been laid to last decades.”

In this year’s NDA/INA course, 20 cadets from the school cleared the Service Selection Board (SSB) and joined the academies. Lt Col Sachin Chamoli, the school’s Headmaster, expressed optimism for the future, emphasizing the synergy between administration, cadets, and staff.

Col Raghav thanked the state administration for its support and highlighted the school’s plans to further enhance cadets’ preparation for the SSB through special evening classes and personality development programs. “We aim to balance SSB and CBSE preparations to ensure more success,” he added.

Alumni, including Lt Gen Raj Shukla (Retd) and Lt Gen V K Chaturvedi (Retd), expressed pride in the school’s accomplishments. The Old Boys Association also extended its support to the administration to help cadets succeed in the SSB.
