Motorola has unveiled its latest ultra-premium Android smartphone, the Motorola Signature 27, during Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit 2026. Marking the second iteration in the brand’s rebooted Signature tier, the device adopts a new naming scheme using the final digits of the upcoming product year (2027) to designate its generation.

The smartphone positions itself directly in the flagship space against Apple and Samsung, combining top-tier silicon, thermal engineering, native Google AI tools, and an expansive optical zoom system.

Silicon and Thermal Architecture

The core of the Signature 27 is Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 platform. Built to handle on-device agentic AI, advanced ISP compute routines, and high-framerate gaming, the SoC integrates dedicated low-latency hardware acceleration and high-throughput antenna arrays.

To handle sustained high workloads without premature throttling, Motorola implemented a revamped ArcticMesh cooling system:

40% Larger 3D Vapour Chamber: Expands heat surface coverage significantly compared to its predecessor.
Phase-Change Interface: Employs liquid metal and diamond-infused thermal gel to bridge the thermal interface.

The Signature 27 introduces a multi-year acoustic partnership between Motorola and luxury audio maker Bang & Olufsen. Dual stereo speakers are tuned under the “Audio by Bang & Olufsen” label, featuring sound profiles optimized for acoustics, staging, and media playback.

The body combines an aerospace-grade contoured aluminium frame with glass-ceramic camera housing accents. It arrives in two Pantone-certified finishes:

Pantone Coal Smoke: Features a durable, motorsport-inspired tactile weave texture for improved grip.
